"The Candid Board," a voyeur website, unwantedly exposed 178,201 registered users on the internet. The database containing personally identifiable information leaked, and it revealed files showing registered users activity on the site.

The file contains information such as emails, addresses, birthdays, IP addresses, and points. The points system are what users earned after commenting, posting, or basically participating on a thread or post on the website. The file surprisingly revealed 100 email addresses coming from government officials, and military personnel.

According to a report by Forbes, the database appears to be stolen nearly two years ago. The file is now obtained by security personnel and is now deemed secured. It appears that the site is being managed by US-based cloud hosting provider called Webair.

IBTimes UK reported that certain actions have commenced, one of which is contacting the website's tech support. "When I described the issue to the support on the other side, he immediately understood what the problem was. It was almost as if they were aware of the problems in their system. We didn't talk for long. He said he would contact the client and then we hung up," the source explained.

The website has not commented on the issue yet, but this may serve as a reminder to anyone who's planning to sign up on websites like this. But for users who think they might be a victim of cyber hacking, HaveIBeenPwned is the website to check. Troy Hunt, a security expert who manages the website has uploaded the list of users leaked.
