The 2018 BMW M4 has been previewed with updated headlights. After its brother, the M3, faded from the market, this updated version has improved several of its specs from exterior design down to transmission options. What's new for the new flagship model?
The Upgrades. The 2018 BMW M4 underwent a facelift which is unique from other 4-series models. Its front and rear features had been replaced with brand new tail and headlights which made it even more angular than futuristic. The LED-powered lights were pegged to be sportier than ever with flowing graphics. The body of the vehicle itself was not altered, reported Car and Driver.
The insides of the model were also updated wherein the front seats now have illuminated M logos. It likewise has chrome features and the BMW brand has been added to the double stitching by the instrument panel. On top of which, the infotainment screen has updated graphics as well.
The Specs. The 2018 BMW M4 is powered by a turbocharged 3.0L inline-six engine which could generate 425hp and a maximum of 406 lb.-ft. of torque. It retained its Competition package which had improved its output to 444hp at 7,000rpm and has less restrictive stability control system and a computer-controlled limited-slip differential. With respect to the wheels, it has been installed with 20in with a 666 designation.
In other news, Yahoo! News reported that the vehicle could be purchased either as a coupe of a convertible with a retractable hardtop. It would be available for purchase by Spring of this year and had been priced at $67,195 for the coupe while $75,695 is for the drop-top.
Although the 2018 BMW M4 faces tough competition within its respective automobile market, the brand had been hopeful that the tweaks added to its exterior and interior features would enable it to become more competitive. Will the model survive, unlike the M3?
