China-Exclusie Nokia 6 Sales: Gone In 60 Seconds

Nokia's comeback was one of the most anticipated events of this year. There's no question why the phone manufacturer's Nokia 6 Android smartphone sold out in just 60 seconds in China.

Nokia's new Android smartphone sold out. The Nokia 6 Android smartphone sold out in the first 60 seconds during a flash sale in China. According to a report by Anzhao, the smartphone went out of stock in just a minute after it was posted as available on the Chinese e-commerce website JD.com.

The company behind the release of the smartphone, HMD Global, did not specify how many units were made available on JD.com exactly although the e-commerce website had already expected this kind of influx of customers. The Nokia name is a tremendously popular brand with over one million registrations received since January 4, 2017. The smartphone initially received more than 250,000 registrations in the first 24-hours of its availability. It eventually crossed the one million mark after the flash sale.

There are speculations that the initial release was for HMD Global to test the waters and to determine how to go about future releases. The Finnish brand seems to be back with a revenge starting off with China.

The mid-range Nokia smartphone features a 5.5-inch full HD display touchscreen with 2.5 Gorilla Glass protection. It runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 4 gigabytes of RAM and 64 gigabytes of internal storage. Storage is expandable up to 128 gigabytes via a microSD slot. The smartphone has a 16-megpixel rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture lens and an 8-megapixel front camera.

The smartphone is powered by a 3000 mAH battery and also features Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, and USB-OTG connectivity. It comes with the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with Dolby Atmos technology.

The Nokia 6 is currently only available in China. The phone retails at 1,699 Yuan.
