Drake is one of the hottest Rap and Hip Hop artists in recent times. His songs have been a staple jam in clubs all across the globe. Staying true to being a "straight up G," he buys himself one of the most expensive sports cars ever made, the 2016 McLaren 675LT to celebrate the launch of his album, "Views."
Hip hop culture is about the lifestyle of the rich and famous. Not only is it evident in their music videos and lavish world tours, they all live and breathe the lifestyle as well. Drake is definitely not going to be left out by the rat race of who's who in terms of their car collection.
According to Auto Evolution, the rapper bought a 2016 McLaren 675LT to celebrate the successful of his album Views. It is reported to cost $350,000 which is certainly not-so-much as Drake is reported to be at least $60 million in net worth. He can afford to have one of the most expensive rides so why not splurge.
It is reported to be one of only 500 units ever made as a nod to the F1 GTR Longtail. It is the McLaren that finished the 1995 edition of Le Mans in first, third, fourth, fifth and thirteenth. The 675LT is even hailed as one of the best supercars the world has even seen.
Drake is obviously a fan of high-performing vehicles as he also possessed a Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Gallardo, Bentley Continental GT Super Convertible, Rolls-Royce Wraith, Bentley Mulsanne, and Brabus 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe. He definitely has a knack for the most expensive and lavish of cars ever made and he has every right to splurge.
The 2016 McLaren 675LT has more power, less weight, and more tail according to Car and Driver. The 675LT is even 1.5-inches longer than the 650S which appear a decent stretch of that extra length comes from the sports car's chin splitter. This may be an issue to some, but most don't mind the 1.5-inch increase at all.
The 2016 McLaren 675LT is definitely a good choice for Drake to spend on. He may not be able to drive it around to experience its top speed and other features, but it is all about lifestyle. Having this high-performing vehicle certainly lives up to the reputation, sealing the deal that he has indeed reached A-List status which no one can argue with.
