The new 2013 Honda Civic XL sedan was released to the public on Nov. 29, the same day it was one of the many featured vehicles showcased at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The company went into more detail and released photos about the vehicle in a company press release.
The Civic is Honda's best-selling compact car and also the one of the highest selling vehicles overall in the U.S. The company will celebrate the 40th anniversary for the Civic franchise next year and decided to celebrate the occasion by releasing what they feel is the best Civic they've produced yet.
The XL sedan model that was released this past Thursday will begin with a base price of $18,165.
"Our industry has never been more competitive or fast changing, and a significant refresh of Civic, America's best-selling compact car, just one model year after its debut as an all-new model shows true speed to market," said John Mendel, American Honda executive vice president of Sales in the press release.
The new vehicle comes with an updated front and rear exterior design and new technological features that the company hopes will draw in younger customers as well as those who have purchased a Civic in the past.

Honda also revamped the steering and suspension system for the new Civic, which makes the car easier to handle while driving on city roads or highways. Combine that with an improved rear-view camera, SMS text system, and steering wheel audio controls the vehicle is everything a person could want out of a car for an affordable price.
Standard features also include Bluetooth HandsFreeLink system and Pandora Interface.
"Our corporate direction is to provide our customers with great products with speed, affordability and low CO2 emissions," said Mendel in the release. "There is no better example of this direction than today's introduction of the 2013 Honda Civic."
