Microsoft doing a trial on a new way of accessing Cortana's ability to put its digital assistant from the Android lock screen by just swiping. It is a new feature that they clearly design to change the current Google's quick access and by convincing the Android users to switch to Cortana.
This does not mean that it will replace the existing lock screen but the user can still apply as the default mode to the Android device. The user will simply activate the new Android lock screen by swiping left or right on the floating logo. They currently tested this new feature and Android users can also select the trial features over at the Google Play Store.
Once the user installs the new update and open the app, it enables the "Cortana on lock screen" appears and by clicking on the "Add Cortana to the lock screen" button will enable this feature on the phone. Following that, a simple app logo will show up near the bottom of the phone lock screen and swipe the logo left or right to open up the swiping app panel similar to how the camera shortcuts work mostly on Android devices.
From the app panel on the phone lock screen, users can get all the updates and even ask Cortana anything they want. But by just swiping the Cortana it can do all things, including setting appointments and reminders, searching up information and even note taking.
Before opening the Cortana lock screen setting it will not ask a PIN. It will not turn off or try to replace the existing lock screen set-up when Cortana's screen setting is used. Users able to get any of the personalization features of Cortana without being logged into the PC.
Finally, adding Cortana on Android devices it keeps users updated even when they are not using a Microsoft Windows-powered device. All Android users can now take advantage of Cortana.
