Acura 2014 Mystery RLX Sedan Finally Revealed (VIDEO)

Acura  unveiled the new 2014 RLX luxury-sedan at the Los Angeles Auto Show yesterday. The company has high hopes for the vehicle as it was constructed to include more power, space, and technological advancements than any other Acura luxury car to come before it.

"The RLX embodies the Acura commitment to create vehicles with outstanding handling that truly respond to the will of the driver," said Conrad in the press release.

For more details about the car check out the company's press release issued shortly after its debut at the LA Auto Show.

With its lightweight frame and all-new direct-injection engine, Acura is hoping to change the way people perceive luxury sedans. The new vehicle will include a state-of-the-art AcuraLink cloud connected infotainment system which will offer a wide range of security and entertainment capabilities.

"The 2014 Acura RLX heralds the introduction of a number of new signature Acura technologies that provide the driver a feeling of connection to the product, to the road, and to the world from the very moment they enter the vehicle," said Jeff Conrad, vice president and general manager of Acura Sales said in the press release.

The RLX is powered to achieve 310 horsepower thanks to a SOHC 24-Valve i-VTEC V-6 direct-injected engine with Variable Cylinder according to the press release. The vehicle is expected to earn a respectable in-class EPA fuel economy rating as well, as the car can get 31mpg on the highway and 20 mpg in the city.

The company previously announced that a version of the car would feature Acura's Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive technology, which will be released in late 2013. This version of the vehicle will have 370 horsepower with a fuel economy rating of 30 while driving in the city and 30 on the highway.

All Acura RLX vehicles will come equipped with a new navigation system, a Krell Audio package, and a real-time traffic system to keep drivers as informed during their commute as possible. New safety features include Lane Keeping Assist system and a Forward Collision Warning system.

The base vehicle model will be on-sale at dealerships by the spring of 2013. Pricing for the RLX has not been established yet.
