Nintendo made its big Switch reveal just last week. Prior to their big announcement, the world knew barely anything about the new hybrid gaming console. The pre-order sold out in just 2 days but the Japanese tech giant assures gamers that more stock is on its way.

Nintendo Switch Reveal. On Jan. 12, the Japanese gaming company made their big Switch reveal and announcement. They had a live press conference in which they announced each and every aspect of the upcoming gaming console. The upcoming games and actual gameplay footage were also showed.

The Switch will be a hybrid gaming console that is capable of both portable handheld gaming and traditional TV-display gaming. The Switch can be played as-is or the user may opt to plug it into its docking station. It will also come with its own kickstand for tabletop gaming.

The unit will be officially available on Mar. 3 at an MSRP of $299.99. This price includes the console, the docking station, two Joy-Con controllers, Joy-Con straps for the controllers, a Joy-Con Grip, a power adapter, and an HDMI cable.

Switch games will have a retail price of $60. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which was originally a Wii U exclusive, will also be launched on the Switch. In addition, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, and the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, were also among the games that were showcased during the big reveal.

The Switch is the Japanese video game company's biggest bet for this year. Many Nintendo fans were excited about the reveal. Others were disappointed about its lack of games, high release price, and other similar complaints.

Switch Pre-Orders. The day after the big reveal, the Switch pre-orders were finally opened to the public. After only 2 days, nearly all of the retailers were out of stock. All in all, there were about 2 million sets of the Switch distributed to retailers worldwide.

For those who have already pre-ordered the Switch, they are among the lucky few who will get to play the gaming consoles on Mar. 3. For the rest of the world and those who have not yet pre-ordered, they may be out of luck. Those who were not able to join the initial wave of pre-orders may not be able to get their console by the release date. Rest assured, Nintendo has announced that they will be producing more stock in order to meet all of the demand.
