Samsung has already started the rollout of Android Nougat 7.0 to its devices worldwide. This week, the South Korean tech giant's flagship phones Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge have received an update. More phones are scheduled to be powered by latest version of the mobile OS in the coming days.

The deployment started in China and Europe while the U.S. and other regions expected to follow suit. The January 17 rollout of Nougat 7.0 went to non-beta program participants in China who have the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.

According to SamMobile, more Samsung Galaxy smartphones will receive the latest Android OS later this month. Some of the handsets identified are Galaxy A3 (2016 & 2017), Galaxy A5 (2016 & 2017), Galaxy A7 (2016 & 2017), and Galaxy A8. Also confirmed are Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Active, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge+.

There are speculations that the 2016 models of Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 will be upgraded to Nougat 7.0. The Galaxy Tab A tablet is also expected to receive an update. Samsung has not yet confirmed whether their cheaper devices such as the Galaxy J3 will be upgraded as well.

Android Nougat 6.0.1 was first deployed in August 2016. A beta version of the Nougat 7.0 became available for Galaxy users three months after. Samsung is offering guidance on how to install the mobile OS' latest version in the S7 and S7 Edge. The handsets' owners need to check their settings for a new software update.

Samsung's devices will be receiving the NDRD90M.G935FXXU1DPLT software, which will update the mobile OS from 6.0.1 Marshmallow to 7.0 Nougat. The software will only occupy 214MB of a smartphone's memory. The new version of the Android also offers bundled notifications, direct replies, new emojis, quick settings, multi-window, and always-on display features.
