Ford announced at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit that the Ford Bronco will come back in 2020. Unfortunately, no other details were revealed including what the Bronco will look like then.

What will the 2020 Ford Bronco look like?  Apart from an announcement confirming the Ford Bronco's return in 2020 nothing else is really known about the nameplate. However, a report from The Truth About Cars claims one windy detail about the next Bronco.

According to two reliable sources, the 2020 Ford Bronco won't be featuring a canvas top or fiberglass cap. Instead, it will be sporting an all-new feature called "Air Roof". The Air Roof is a system consisting of multiple panels that can be removed and stored within the vehicle. There could possibly be six panels for the 2020 Ford Bronco's Air Roof.

Nothing else is known about the 2020 Ford Bronco except the Air Roof. Furthermore, nothing else is known about the Air Roof except that it will mimic the snap-out roof panels that the Jeep Renegade currently has.

A wholly separate report on The Truth About Cars claims that the new Ford Bronco will be more of a direct competitor to the Jeep Renegade's big brother, the Jeep Wrangler. The Air Roof could well be Ford's answer to the Jeep Wrangler's removable roof speculated to be one feature on the 2018 model.

It is unclear whether or not the 2020 Bronco will have two-door and four-door variants just like today's Jeep Wrangler. Other speculations say that the new Ford Bronco will most likely end up as an SUV just like its fixed-roof cousin, the Ford Everest.

There has been no word yet Ford about these speculations. If the Ford Bronco does end up with a removable roof, it would be a considered a very faithful design to the original Bronco.
