HTC One A9 Rolls out Nougat Update for Its Users

For users of the HTC One A9, there's good news! Android rolled out its latest OS, Nougat for the phone starting January 16.

According to TechnoBuffalo, HTC One A9 users will finally get to experience Android's latest OS update, Android 7.0 through an update on January 16. HTC's VP of Product Management, Mo Versi announced via Twitter that they'll be rolling out the Nougat update for the A9 users. The Nougat update is limited to the unlocked versions of the A9.

The unlocked HTC One A9 is where the phones remove the SIM restriction and unnecessary pre-loads on the device. Unlocked HTC phones allow their users to use any telecom carrier's SIM card aside from the initial default carrier. This will be beneficial to those who do international travels since it will allow them to use their unlocked phones to read the local SIM carriers.

HTC earlier promised that One A9 will be sporting updates on its OS after the Nexus devices from Samsung. They are one of the first phones to be out to the public with the Marshmallow OS built-in. While it took them quite a long time to upgrade to the latest Android OS, it is still happening. With the Nougat update on the One A9 device, users can expect better battery life as well as better phone performance.

Released two years ago on October 20, 2015, the HTC One A9 sparked a debate because of its design resembling Apple's iPhone 6S. It sports a 5-inch display screen with 1080x1920 screen resolution. It has 3GB RAM and an internal storage of 16GB, which can be expandable through microSD cards. Its rear camera has 3-megapixels while the front camera has 4-megapixels.

This is a good phone for those who are looking for a decent one while on budget constraints. So for those who haven't updated their unlocked HTC phones, be sure to do so to enjoy Nougat's features.
