Although not a sought-after brand compared with the high-end brands, the Korean car manufacturer is confident that the upcoming 2017 Hyundai i30 will be "everything today's customers expect." Check out below some details to justify such courageous claim.
According to Hyundai marketing head Jochen Sengpiehl, the new i30 promises to be an appealing car which every customer would have a great driving experience. Sengpiehl claimed that the new vehicle features "everything today's customers expect."
Having the European market in mind, the 2017 Hyundai i30 was designed, produced and tested in Europe. The design of the new i30 is a complete improvement sporting Hyundai's latest bold nose and cascading grille designs.
Although the new i30 looks better than the previous, analyst find it smart and not compelling. It can be compared to the likes of a VW Gold, Ford Focus or Vauxhall Astra in terms of aesthetics, but Autoexpress notes that the new i30 sits far from the gorgeous Peugeot 308 or the Renault Megane.
Exploring the interiors, the soft-feel characteristic is evident on the soft materials covering the doors and the dashboard. The driver will also enjoy the soft feel of the leather-wrapped steering wheel. Passengers can also endure longer journeys with ease and comfort with the i30's well-bolstered seats.
Hyundai offers three engine options for the new i30: 1.4-liter turbo, 3-cylinder turbo petrol, and 1.6-liter CRDi diesel. Among the three choices, the Korean manufacturer expects the latter choice to cash in bigger in the market.
With regard to driving experience, the new i30 offers clean acceleration for brisk overtakes. The review also notes that the new vehicle offers good body control too, despite non-sharp steering.
The new i30 is deemed to be a refined cruiser, especially in the highway. The vehicle still runs quietly at 70 mph.
The other features of the new i30 boast of its heated seats with leather covers, 17-inch alloys, automatic LED lights and dual-zone climate control.
Safety measures are in order too. The new i30 is equipped with Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Alert, High Beam Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert system and Front Collision Warning features.
Meanwhile, Hyundai took to its official Twitter account a photo revealing their plans for i30. Apparently, the 2017 i30 is just part of a growing family of i30. The tweet reveals the upcoming 5-door i30 will also have some siblings like the i30 Wagon, i30 N and the i30 Fastback. According to the timeline posted on the photo, the Wagon will come out at the Geneva Motor Show while the i30 N will be launched in the second half of 2017. The i30 Fastback is yet to debut early next year.
The 5-Door i30 is expected to come out in March. Will it really prove to be "everything today's customers expect?"
