Two years ago, Ford launched an all-new version of its top-selling model, the Ford D-150 pickup and now they are going to update the look of it featuring a redesigned grille. The company is committed to investing heavily on this in order to keep its F-Series trucks the most popular in America.
According to WFAA the refreshing F-150 mid-cycle for the 2018 model will have a redesigned front-end grille, wheel options, bolder seat colors, first-in-class technological offerings and a new diesel engine among other features designed to reach a broad cross-section of truck buyers. Ford continues their improvements every year. Because for them, this is crucial for the massively profitable vehicle which is now marketing 40 years as the nation’s best-selling truck.
The addition of a diesel engine option is a really big news especially for the towing audience of diesel enthusiasts while helping Ford’s need to meet increasing fuel company standards. The changes are not as dramatic as those that transformed the F-150 in the 2015 model year when Ford turned to an all-aluminum body. Ford is hoping to get a leg up on its competition by unveiling the updated truck line which accounts for nearly one-third of its North American sales.
This full-size pickup truck has the V-8 engine and it is supposed to be inseparable. According to Car And Driver, Ford F-150 is the most popular vehicle in America. It has two turbocharged six-cylinder engines marketed under the EcoBoost name with naturally aspirated V-8. Ford’s new 2.7-liter twin turbo V-6 is the popular choice while the 3.5-liter twin turbo V-6 is the top performer. The twin turbo engine offers an extra 1500 pounds of towing capability and handles lighter tasks with considerably less strain. The 5.0-liter truck needs more revs and wider throttle opening to accelerate its load.
