The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport vehicle was presented the "Utility Vehicle of the Show" award by the Southern Automotive Media Association during the 42nd annual Miami International Auto Show this past weekend.
The award was voted on by a panel of judges which consisted of over 100 automotive journalists from around the U.S. according to a press release issued by Hyundai Motors. Judges had to pick from a number of different utility vehicles including pickup trucks, crossovers and SUVs.
Hyundai was presented with one of three awards given out by SAMA during the auto show and it was the first time that SAMA awarded a utility vehicle with a prize during the auto show.
"Hyundai is deeply honored to receive the 'Utility Vehicle of the Show' award for the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport by SAMA," said Jim Trainor, senior group manager of product public relations, Hyundai Motor America in the press release. "Santa Fe is proving to be a fantastic example of Hyundai's commitment to value with a wide variety of features and options that resonate well with the South Florida market."
The 2013 edition of the Santa Fe will be completely re-designed compared to previous models, and will come available in two unique body designs when released with a number of interior changes. The five seat utility vehicle comes with a direct-injected four-cylinder engine available with Active Cornering all-wheel drive according to the press release.
Some features that the Santa Fe comes equipped with includes a newly designed navigation system, a folding rear seat and a panoramic sunroof.
The vehicle will come available in a GLS option and a Limited option.
You can purchase the 2013 model in the summer of 2013 according to the company's website. More details about the vehicle will be released closer to the release date.
"The Santa Fe Sport is precisely the right size with optimum accessories for today's market. It's a superb vehicle for the price and worthy of being named SAMA's 'Utility Vehicle of the Show'," said Jaime Florez, SAMA President and judge in the press release.
