Audi Sets All-Time U.S. October Sales Record, Sees 14.5 Percent Increase, 22 Months In A Row Of Record Sales

Audi recorded a record-setting October sales month selling over 11,708 vehicles equaling to a 14.5 percent increase compared to October 2011.  

In a press release issued by the company, October also represented the 22nd consecutive month of record sales in the U.S. Audi vehicle sales equaled 34 percent of total October auto sales which was a 36 percent increase of premium vehicles sold compared to September.

Sale numbers improved largely due to the demand for the A8 vehicle and the A6 which includes new and advanced technology. Overall the A8 saw a 55 sales increase for the month while the new A6 went up 37 percent.

The a6 has also posted a 96.8 percent year to date gain compared to January through October 2011 according to the press release.

"The newly launched models in our performance lines - the Audi S6, S7, S8 and RS 5 - have been huge success stories by virtually selling out shortly after hitting showrooms," said Mark Del Rosso, Chief Operating Officer, Audi of America in the press release. "It's clear that premium car buyers are excited about the new generation of cars at the top of our lineup with the Audi A6, A7, A8 and Q7 models constituting 71% of our sales gain in October."

Over five Audi vehicles recorded year-over-year sales increases of over 20 percent or more including the A3, A4, and Q7 vehicles.

The A3 saw a 59.7 percent increase compared to last year and the YTD sales number rose 17.9 percent. The A4 went up 20.6 percent compared to last year and 8.2 compared to last year.
