The latest MacBook Pro from Apple is now facing a significant issue on the battery life. Reviews vary on the laptop's battery life. Fortunately, Apple has rectified the issue but users will have to wait for the release of the latest update which claims to have the solution for this issue on battery.
The new MacBook Pro has been reported to have a battery lifespan ranging from less than four hours to a high of almost 20 hours. The Cupertino company points the blame to its Skylake chips from Intel. The popular blog site Consumer Reports apparently voiced out the battery issue on the MacBook pro.
However, Apple has also issued a statement on the blog site for issuing an inaccurate report on the battery issue. According to the statement, Apple said that they have figured out that Consumer Reports used a hidden Safari setting for developing websites when they tested the battery life of the MacBook Pro. This hidden Safari setting then turns off the browser cache, Express UK reported.
Apple was quick to take some actions to solve the battery life issue. The company released a software update which claims to have settled the issue. The tech blog Consumer Report then recently confirmed that they have tested the three variants of MacBook Pro and have fared well with the latest update.
The report detailed that the Touch Bar and non-Touch Bar versions of the MacBook 13-inch variant were both tested, together with the 15-inch model. Based on the test conducted, the three models of MacBook Pro now has an average battery life of not less than 15 hours, which is a big improvement on the less than 4 hours issue.
The test resulted in an average working time of 15.75 hours on the 13-inch Touch Bar model and an 18.75-hour battery life on the non-Touch Bar. For the 15-inch model, it resulted to a 17.25-hour battery life.
However, MacBook Pro users must also be guided that the update is still in the Beta program now. The company is yet to roll out the latest full Software Update in the upcoming weeks.
