The release of the Samsung Galaxy S8 that comes in late 2017 is reportedly highly-anticipated as the Korean tech company is expected to ensure that no blunders will happen to its flagship product this time around. Samsung is said to be taking extra steps to its development, thus it is not in a rush to launch the smartphone just yet.

According to Express, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is originally expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress this February but that plan might have changed. The Korean giant could instead mount a special event come April in New York where Samsung is bound to introduce its most powerful smartphone to consumers.

But just what are the Samsung Galaxy S8's newest features? What will set it apart from its earlier models?

Daily Mail cited a leaked image of the Samsung Galaxy S8 that has noticeably done away with the home button. Speculations are that the smartphone could finally make use of a fingerprint scanner that will make the device's operation seamless. But the leaked image also suggests that the new device might come with settings that allow users to activate a full-screen mode and manually change the display based on user's preference.

The look and design of the Samsung Galaxy S8 has a bigger and wider screen that even offers a 3-D effect of photos and videos. Speculations are that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will launch two models that both come with a dual-curved display just like the Edge models. It might do away with flat screens altogether.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone is also expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 835 from Qualcomm, which has just been released this January. Its new powerful processor should complement a device that will have 6GB or 8GB RAM.

According to NDTV, the Samsung Galaxy S8 could also feature a digital voice assistant called Bixby (male) or Kestra (female). This voice-activated feature will be useful for the pre-installed apps that will be packed in the new smartphone.
