Since the release of the Rimac Concept One electric supercar, it had knocked off the fastest automobiles in the market to date. Recently, it almost outperformed the Bugatti Veyron during a demonstration race of new age performance cars powered by batteries.

The Record-Breaker. Electric vehicles were pegged to be those types of models that mitigated the acceleration rates of the vehicle as a whole. For models like the Faraday Future and General Motors' EV startup models, this fact had remained true. However, when the Bugatti Veyron and Rimac Concept One electric supercar were tested for their top speed, both models were scratched out from the description which its other counterparts in the market were labeled with, reported Jalopnik.

Bugatti has been known as the brand who manufactured the fastest cars in the automobile industry for years. In fact, it was pegged as the best supercar ever made by petrol-heads and won the title "Car of the Decade" by Top Gear, reported Electrek. When William Pembroke of Wilton Classic Supercar put the model to the test against the electric supercar, the car enthusiasts were astounded as for how the latter almost beat the top-performing Bugatti.

The Supercar Specs. The Rimac Concept One electric supercar could generate a total output of 1,073hp and 1,170 lb.-ft. of torque. Performance wise, the vehicle transports its powertrain directly to its wheels despite it being powered by an electric engine. On the other hand, the Bugatti Veyron is powered by an 8.0L W16 quad-turbocharged engine which could reach 1,014PS, has a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, has a top speed of 255mph, and could generate 1,200hp t 6,400 rpm, reported Car and Driver.

As uploaded via YouTube, the supercar almost knocked out the Bugatti Veyron when it jumped off the line. In fact, the report indicated that if the two vehicles raced beyond the quarter-mile, the Rimac Concept One electric supercar could easily beat the record-breaker.
