Mercedes AMG GT3 Wins 3rd Place At Hankook 24H Dubai 2017 Motorsport Season

Last Jan. 12-14, 2017, the Hankook 24H Dubai race started off the 2017 motorsport season and the Mercedes-AMG GT3 landed as 3rd in the race and a class win with the #1 Hofor Racing model. In previous years, the same model had earned similar achievements and has always earned the top 3 spot.

How Did The Race Go? Driven by Yelmer Buurman, the Black Falcon Mercedes-AMG GT3 started the race as the 5th vehicle on the grid. Although it had to come in for an unscheduled pit stop with only a few laps completed, the team was able to regain their front-running place and sped to the top five as the race went on. In fact, the vehicle incurred numerous code 60 phases and garnered time penalties in the refueling zone but continued to make it to the top every time.

The #3 Black Falcon was the only Mercedes-AMG GT3 remaining in the top ten ranks when it landed the 17th place. Even the #25 bout of the same model had to restart from the back of the grid but was still able to enter the top ten place, reported Motor Sport. With that, driver Christian Frankenhout acclaimed after the race finished that the team did a very good job as the racers driving the model landed the top 10 spots and they were able to drive flawless laps due to the good pit stops.

The Mercedes Impresses. In other news, Racer reported a total of 92 racers were able to partake in the Hankook 24H Dubai race. Although both the teams who drove the model had to force retire, its debut labeled it as an impressive make and model.

The two Black Falcon Mercedes-AMG GT3 teams were proud to have driven the model for the first time at the event. Although the teams did not grab the championship title, the race marked the model as one with an impressive performance for a vehicle who has had its first debut into the annual Hankook 24H Dubai competition.
