During the North American International Auto Show that took place in Detroit, some went home winners and some were left quite disappointed. The show was to showcase new car models from different car manufacturers including Ford, Lamborghini, Pacifica, Honda and other who stands out in the auto industry.

VLF Automotive also participated on the said show. The manufacturer was known and has received numerous praises with their Fisker karma's $229,000 Destino sportive sedan. However, they were named as the ugliest car during the show with their VLF Automotive X-Series.

Enthusiasts described the car model as an inspiration to Hummer H2. It was first presented during the 2017 Detroit auto show and was later revealed that it was based on the Chevy Colorado pick-up truck. X-Series has a rear canopy which makes it unique in terms of body panels.

The vehicle was said to be designed for off-road travel. The vehicle covers an 11.5 inches ground clearance, approach and departure side of 44.7 and 48 degrees. The wheels used are 20 inches aluminum set in 35 inches tires for off road. It also comes with a four-wheel drive system with the transfer case and a lot of underbody protection. Customers can have either a 3.6-liter V6 or a 2.8-liter diesel inline-four. 

The VLF Automotive X-Series was also described as a car built in the garage with some untalented car experts and the design was just too militaristic and fragile looking with oversized wheels. Some other comments were also its cheap-looking stickers, weird shape, and unbearable front edges.

The interesting part is also the production of the unit. Though the car will be made in Auburn Hills, Michigan, the car will not be sold in the USA. It is exclusively for export to its target markets in Europe and Asia with the starting price of $70,000. It was also planned by the company to produce 200 to 300 off-roads every year.
