Toned-Down BMW M4 GTS Called CS Spotted Winter Testing

The arrival of the new BMW M4 is coming as the development of the toned-down version of the BMW M4 GTS nears its final stage and is spotted again. The new M4, which will carry the acronym CS, will have a new front splitter and a small rear spoiler.

This is not the first time that the new BMW M4 has been spotted. In early autumn of 2016, it was spotted testing in the Nurburgring tracks, as seen in the video below. By then, the auto world still doesn't know that the Munich firm is developing a new M4 CS version, which would be positioned between the standard and the radical GTS, but now everything has been confirmed.

This new CS version should not be confused with the limited series exclusive M4 CS for Spain, wherein its initials meant Competition Sport. In recent months, the brand has registered all the possible numerical names between M1 CS and M8 CS, which proves that BMW Motorsport's intention is to create more radical variants of its models.

These versions would have a more radical setting than the standard M4. In fact, many of them  may have been taken directly from the BMW M4 GTS suspension elements, braking system, exhaust and aerodynamic. Previously, the spy photos have hidden a new lower lip in the front bumper, while the rear featured a small spoiler on the boot lid. Aesthetically, the M4 CS also seems to quite resemble the Facelifted M4. One would see the similarities in its new headlights, grills and bumper, in addition to other new equipments that were incorporated in this update, according to CarScoops.

BMW has not yet revealed when the BMW M4 CS will be presented, however, recent rumors suggest that the current M4 will end production this year, particularly in late February, and will not go into production until Summer. So expect a very close presentation, perhaps at the Geneva Motor Show. Months later, the new CS version should arrive. Meanwhile, check out the video below.
