First Look: 2018 Jaguar F-Type Receives Facelift And New Tech

The 2018 Jaguar F-Type debuts at the Detroit Auto Show with a renewed look, new model variants, and many technological innovations such as the new Full-LED headlights and the application ReRun developed by Go-Pro. It will reach dealerships during the first quarter of 2017.

The Jaguar F-Type continues to be updated to keep up and to remain one of the best offerings of Jaguar. It is now a model that is more dynamic, sporty and known to have better performance. It received subtle changes on the bumpers with different variations depending on the versions and a new set of headlights with LED technology, according to AutoExpress.

In addition, since its launch in 2012, the 2018 Jaguar F-Type now has a more varied range than ever with a total of 28 variants starting from the F-Type rear-wheel drive with 340 hp to the F-Type SVR with all-wheel drive, according to TopGear. The main attraction in this sense comes with the Jaguar F-Type 400 Sport, a special edition to celebrate the launch which uplifts performance from 3.0 V6 supercharged to 400 hp. Another new version is the F-Type R-Dynamic, which will only be available with the 3.0 V6 340 and 380 CV.

Presented at the Detroit Auto Show, the 2018 Jaguar F-Type is also the most technological Jaguar that has been created to date. All versions of it will now be equipped with the Infotainment system Touch Pro eight-inch screen that integrates functions of intelligent navigation and online services such as traffic and weather reports in real time. It also features connectivity for mobile phones that make use of Android or iOS operating system.

The renewed F-Type will also add the new ReRun application that has been developed by Jaguar in collaboration with Go-Pro. This will combine real-time video recorded by the Go-Pro camera and main vehicle performance data such as speed, throttle position, gears, Braking and force G. The videos obtained will be in high resolution and will include fragments of the best moments that can be downloaded to the driver's smartphone for later sharing to social networks.

To top it all, the 2018 Jaguar F-Type added a new color scheme for the interior that now includes luxurious leather in Siena Tan. Watch the new F-Type at the video below.
