Detroit Auto Show: Lexus LS 500 Brings Stunning Powertain Of Athletic And Aggressive Sport Sedan

The fifth generation of LS Luxury Sedan will be introduced this year and it gets feistier with its aggressive look and powerful twin turbo V6 engine. The all-new 2018 Lexus LS 500 is enhanced with a bold new appearance while adding what the automaker calls visionary technology.

It comes with a coupe-like silhouette that still allows luxury levels of interior design. "Not only the LS will symbolize the Lexus brand but it will become the definitive new generation luxury car that symbolizes Japanese tradition and culture. As such, this global pinnacle must go far beyond the expectations of the world from a luxury car," Chief Engineer for the new LS, Toshio Asahi said.

This car uses an all-new 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 developed through the company's F1 technology.  Total output sits at 415 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, and it sends the car for a projected zero to 60 mph acceleration time in just 4.5 seconds.

There are 28-way power seats and rear seats with cooling, heating, massage and the option to recline.  Moreover, the dashboard design has the information display at uniform height in order to support the "seat-in-control" layout.

At the back, the customers can select for the wider rear seat luxury package which offers more legroom compared to any previous generation LS 500. The seat behind the front passenger can be reclined up to 48 degrees and can be raised up to 24 degrees to facilitate rear-seat for the passenger to exit the vehicle more easily.

It comes with a 12.3-inch navigation screen and an optional 24-inch color heads-up display. It also comes with all sorts of safety systems like lane keep assist and pedestrian detection system that can be applied on the brakes and steer the car while keeping it in the lane and an attempt to avoid the impending collision.

The occupants will keep protected through the panoramic monitors, blind-spot, and parking assist that the automaker hopes will have a fewer accident. The LS 500 will be available on sale by the end of 2017. But the price has not yet been announced.
