Where To Vote In New Jersey On Election Day, Voters Allowed To Email, Fax Votes In Due To Hurricane Sandy (SEE WHERE TO GO)

Due to the devastation Hurricane Sandy caused last week, New Jersey officials have decided to allow citizens to vote by email and fax for the impending presidential election.

Many locations throughout N.J. are still suffering from power outages, flooding and damaged roads which would make it hard for someone to get to the nearest location to place their vote on Tuesday. Many people have been forced to leave their homes entirely due to significant damage caused by the storm, but thanks to the ruling announced by Governor Chris Christie, people will still be able to cast their ballot.

Roughly 20 percent of N.J. voters will have to vote in a different location then they would have if Hurricane Sandy didn't impact the east coast last week according to NJ Spotlight. Over 119 voting locations have been moved due to the storm as well.

37 towns in Bergen County will be forced to vote at a different location on Tuesday, and 29 towns in Monmouth County will as well. Places like Seaside Heights lost its entire polling locations, and other beach locations like Atlantic County and Hudson County have also been affected greatly.

Both Christie and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo have stressed to power companies to get the electricity back on at all polling stations by Nov. 6 to make things easier on voters who can make it out to the polls on Election Day. If power can't be restored to your nearest polling station, paper ballots will be on hand to help make your voice heard.

'There's no reason why anybody shouldn't vote. We're going to have a full, fair, transparent, open voting process,' said Christie in a press conference over the weekend.

Christie also told county clerks offices to remain open longer during the weekend to allow people to come out and vote early.

The state has set up multiple options to help voters during the election:

To see where you should vote on Tuesday or if your usual location has changed, go to The League of Women Voters of New Jersey website where they have been providing the most up-to-date information on locations NJ voters will be visiting Tuesday. The site also provides your nearest county clerk's office to get your vote in before Tuesday.

Click here to go to NJVote.crowdmap to report a problem with your voting process or call 732-903-8683.

To find out more information on specific candidates running for different positions on Tuesday, go to NJ Spotlight Voter Guide. Once at the site, they will ask your address and the site will then quickly look up the information for candidates you should prepare yourself for before casting your vote.

For those who can't get online and are still wondering where they need to go on Tuesday, text the word WHERE to 877877. They will then ask for your address and shortly after they will let you know the most up-to-date information on where to go Tuesday.

Both presidential candidates have commended Christie for the way he has helped citizens around N.J. and the way he has prevented things becoming worse if N.J. citizens didn't have a way to submit their vote by Tuesday. There was even some discussion before the storm hit that the U.S. would have to change the election date due to Hurricane Sandy affecting so many states, something that has never happened before.

According to Yahoo, over 26 million Americans have already voted in over 34 states. Early polls show Obama ahead in key states like Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Colorado. Romney is leading currently in states like Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia.
