The first official image of the new Mercedes Hypercar R50 was revealed at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The road legal sports car with F1 engine is expected to arrive in September during the Frankfurt Motor Show. It will serve to commemorate the half-century celebration of the Mercedes-AMG division.
Auto fans in GTspirit have managed to take a picture of the Mercedes Hypercar R50 that was revealed at the 2017 CES. The company’s head of research and development and former AMG boss, Ola Kallenius, lead the event and now the auto world can have a real mid-engined Mercedes Hypercar R50 that will bring F1 on the road, according to CarAdvice
The image shows a front view from the rear, which clearly shows the absence of rear windows and the upper air inlet will be a chimney type resting on the roof of the sports. Next to it, one can find two huge NACA-type sockets and air vents.
As expected, the Mercedes Hypercar R50 has a stylized and sporty figure. The image clearly shows its low and wide waist with the carrier placed in the center, which suggests its curves will have some steps and its very bulky wheels will be profiled in the body. In response to the original silhouette that the brand released, one can guess in this picture the central vertical stabilizer. However, one cannot confirm if its length won't exceed the height of the passenger compartment.
After its presentation at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Mercedes Hypercar R50 will begin deliveries in 2018 and is expected to be priced at around under 2 million euros excluding taxes or around $3 million with taxes, according to AutoEvolution. A very expensive car, but then again, the R50 is expected to deliver a mind-boggling performance. Check the car below.
