The Infinity Q30 Sport Is Poised To Capture The Small Luxury Compact Car Market

Infinity is finding its way into the luxury compact car market with the QX30, a small crossover model that uses the Mercedes-Benz CLA Platform.  The Q30 can simply focus on its past history of excellent brand performance coupled with elegance that a Mercedes derivative brings.

Initial tests by Car And Driver in the previous year vouch for the robust performance of the 2017 Infinity QX30 Sport. This year, the car is out to redeem itself from the Q30''s dismal 4th place out of 5 cars in the small crossover luxury car models.

The Infinity QX30 Sport model now looks different from the regular plain looking QX30 AWD justifying its $39,495 price level. In addition to the new spoilers and classy wheels, adjustments the car's front wheel-only configuration made the Infinity QX30 Sport 200 pounds lighter.

The adjustments have turned the QX30 Sport into a true hatchback in appearance and erase the enigma of being referred to as shrunken SUV. The wheels have also increased from 18-inch to 19-inch size.

There were no changes in the engine specs as the QX30 Sport still uses the 4 cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged to attain 208 horsepower and . While there is no difference in the engine, performance is clearly enhanced by the low gravity of the QX30 Sport which improves maneuverability, reaction to speed changes and the interaction between car and the driver,

The Infinity QX30 Sports outperforms the Q30 AWD when it comes to acceleration. It is faster by.4 seconds in reaching from 0 to 60 mph at 6.6 seconds. To reach a speed of 100 mph, the QX30 Sport needs 16.8 seconds compared to Q30's 18.1 seconds, a difference of 1.3 seconds.

The Infinity Q30 Sport stops at 157 feet from a speed of 70 mph, six feet shorter than the AWD model. When compared to the Mercedes GLA250 model, from which the Q30 Sport is based, the latter also outperforms the former in almost all tests. The Infinity Q30 Sport hatchback is ready to outperform all the other luxury compact car models.
