Ford is rolling out drastic upgrades to the Sync 3 infotainment system in the 2016 car models. This Blackberry-based infotainment system was indeed a great improvement from the sluggish MyFord Touch system that graced the cockpit of Ford car models prior to 2016. To gain more leverage, these slew of upgrades were announced during the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

One welcomed update was the increased connectivity that driver and passenger experience while aboard a Ford 2016 model car. The driver and passenger can enjoy smooth and fast WiFi connection both inside and outside of the car. In fact, signal can reach up to 50 feet away from the vehicle while up to ten devices can be connected to the WiFi. The Sync Connect of Ford relies on AT&T and the wireless connectivity has made other features available, according to Car and Driver.

Ford Sync 3 also allowed for the integration of Amazon Echo to its infotainment system. Drivers and passengers can keep themselves entertained while traveling. They can listen to audiobooks, request for news and even shop at Amazon. They can also use Amazon Echo with the virtual assistant Alexa. Alexa can connect to the driver's home and close or open doors, switch on or off lights and access security system, according to Digital Trends.

The Ford Sync 3 upgrades sound good and people are getting excited about Ford cars with their modern infotainment. But there is a catch to all these offerings. The upgraded Sync 3 will only be available in the 2016 models. This means those driving old Ford cars will not enjoy the latest upgrades unless they decide to buy a 2016 car model, according to Motor Authority.

Ford 2016 models offer fun, convenience and connectivity that are difficult to find in other cars. This will be a good selling point for Ford. The sophisticated technology of the Sync 3 will make potential car buyers go for Ford 2016.
