Leaked: Samsung Galaxy S8 To Come Out In April 2017, Nothing Like The Note 7

The Galaxy S8 is one of the biggest android smartphones to hit the market this year. There hasn't been any official announcement about its launch from Samsung yet although leaks have recently surfaced on the internet.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date. Consumers are very much excited for Samsung's 2017 flagship android smartphone despite the Galaxy Note 7's issue of blowing up the previous year. It has been speculated that Samsung is taking its dear time in working on the Galaxy S8 to avoid any issues including ones that it is most unlikely to have. In addition, Samsung is ensuring that its 2017 flagship doesn't go through the same fiery fate as the Galaxy Note 7.

Samsung regularly unveils its products at the yearly Mobile World Congress every February. However, it seems that the smartphone manufacturer will be skipping this year's MWC. Accordingly to SamMobile, the Korean tech giant is instead considering an event wholly separate from the MWC which will be held in New York sometime in March.

The unveiling would mean that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will subsequently go on sale in April. This is in line with previous Galaxy S releases such as S6, S5, and S4 although a month later than its predecessor, the Galaxy S7.

There have been reports that Samsung will once again utilize the same batteries used in the Galaxy Note 7 as supplied by its battery division, Samsung SDI, for the Galaxy S8. However, this yields no strong conclusion as to the fate of the S8 since the Note 7 still experienced the same issue of units catching fire even after replacement batteries from ATL were used.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 supposedly features a 5.1-inch AMOLED display, Bluetooth 5.0, dual rear-facing cameras, a fingerprint sensor and iris scanner, and a new built-in AI assistant. Reports claim that it has IP68 certification, will run on Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 835, and will have no audio jack just like its competitor, Apple's iPhone 7. There is currently no solid information on what the Galaxy S8's price would be when it finally goes on sale.
