Ford Confirms Seven Electric Vehicles With Long Mile-Range; SUV, F150 And Mustang To Take the Lead [Video]

Ford welcomed 2017 with an announcement that it will add 13 more to its line of electric vehicles. Seven of these will be released over the next five years and the seven others by 2020. The first seven new global electrified vehicles that will arrive over the next five years are the Mustang Hybrid, F-150 Hybrid, Autonomous Vehicle Hybrid, Fully Electric Small Utility, Transit Custom Plug- In Hybrid and Two Pursuit-Rated Police Hybrid Vehicles.

One of the vehicles included in the lineup of new Ford hybrid vehicles was an all-electric SUV that will have a a mile-range of 300. This might not be able to compete with hybrid cars from other companies but this is better compared to other electric vehicles of Ford that have shorter mile range. It was also confirmed again that the F-150 Hybrid Pickup Truck will be counted among the new vehicles of Ford by 2020, according to Green Car Reports.

Set to challenge the Chevy Bolt will be the electric SUV that is rumored to have a longer mile-range than the Tesla Model X. This will be built in the Flat Rock plant of Ford with targeted markets in Europe, North America and Asia. It is scheduled to be released in 2020. At the rate by which modern technology moves forward, one can expect that this planned SUV might have longer mile-range than the confirmed 300, according to Hybrid Cars.

By building electric vehicles with long mile-range, Ford addresses the anxiety experienced by customers who want to buy an electric car. While many people want a car that will keep the environment clean and safe, the short range of these cars somewhat discouraged them. Not many people would like to experience stopping every hundred or less miles just to recharge batteries, according to USA Today.

With Ford announcing its intention to make more long-range electric vehicles in the coming years, competition in the field of green car industry will be stiff. However, prices are bound to change for the better, enabling even ordinary citizens to have a car of their own. Another good effect to society is having a green and safe environment at all times.
