Opel Corsa E made its launching at the 2014 Paris Motor Show essentially as a heavily facelifted version of its predecessor, the Corsa D. Its all-new version though, will not be out until 2019 when the car spied in prototype guise will be revealed as a production model. Opel has made the announcement almost a month ago, with the emphasis on the production to be handled exclusively by the plant in Zaragosa, Spain, meaning, the assembly of the Corsa at the plant in Eisenach, Germany will no longer continue following the demise of the current generation.

The 2019 Opel Corsa F did not seem to show significant changes on the shape and size. Technical details are not available for now but it is safe to say it will eschew the GM Fiat Small platform of the Corsa D and E shared with the Fiat Grande Punto which was launched in 2005. Weight loss, according to Motor1, is expected as a result of the switching to new hardware. Availability of an array of turbocharged three and four-cylinder engines, with most of them being evolutions of today's powertrains, is likely. This should bring a minor increase in power and at the same time, improved fuel efficiency.

Opel Corsa remains as one of the brand's bestselling vehicles. Opel has also been spotted testing a sedan variant of the 2019 Opel Corsa F, but it is unclear if the said prototype will be offered for sale in Europe or to head to China as a small Buick sedan. According to GM Authority, the Corsa hatchback was spotted testing in Sweden, likely for cold weather testing.

While the 2019 Opel Corsa F is still on its way, Opel has a busy 2017. It will launch seven new vehicle models and variants throughout the year. They are the Opel Grandland X, Crossland X, Insignia Grand Sport and its variants, and a new Opel Vivaro.
