Surface Pro 5 To Launch In Q1 of 2017: What You Need To Know About The Latest Microsoft Surface Tablet

It is speculated that Microsoft is currently planning the release of their newest Surface tablet, the Surface Pro 5. A DigiTimes report quoting the Economic Daily News, a Chinese-language news source, claims that Microsoft's Surface Pro 5 is set to be launched in the 1st quarter of this year.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5. Surface Pro 5 leaks apparently say that Microsoft's Surface Pro 5 will feature a UHD 2-in-1 4K display. In addition, a new magnetic stylus is set to go along with the new Surface tablet.

The Surface Pro 5's predecessor, the Surface Pro 4, features a 3:2 aspect ratio on a 12.3-inch PixelTouch display which is protected by Corning Guerilla Glass 4. A new Surface Pen that came with an eraser also came with the Surface Pro 5.

The Surface Pro 4 is available in Core M3, Core i5, and Core i7 variants and is respectively powered by Intel's HD Graphics 515, HD Graphics 520, and Iris Graphics. It also sports a full-size USB 3.0 port, a 3.5mm audio jack, a Mini Display port, a microSD card reader, a Type Cover slot, and a SurfaceConnect port.

Surface Pro 4 was launched during the 4th quarter of 2015 along with the Surface Book. A Core i7 variant of the Surface Book has been released just October of last year. The launch of both devices was a massive success which makes the launch of a possible Surface Pro 5 exciting for consumers.

If Microsoft does plan to launch the Surface Pro 5 this year, there is talk going around that it could feature a new and much faster processor. Speculations point to a possible Qualcomm processor to power the Surface Pro 5.

There hasn't been any word from Microsoft regarding a Surface Pro 5 as of yet. It is best that consumers and technophiles alike wait on an official announcement that could come anytime soon.
