2017 Nissan GT-R GT500 Vs. Lexus LC500 Vs. Honda NSX-GT: Which Is The Best Race Coupe?

The latest Nissan GT-R, also known as the R35, was rolled out in 2007 as a successor to the popular R34. The car has been redesigned from ground up and from that point on, it has set a lot of new benchmarks for the Nissan GT-R. This particular model has also dropped the name Skyline. This is also the first car to use a V-6 engine.

Having the title of longest life, ten years and counting to be exact, the 2017 Nissan GT-R still makes waves in the car world industry. The previous models just have an average of three to five years before they get new iterations. The current Nissan GT500 is also getting an aggressive makeover to comply with the 2017 racing rules.

2017 Nissan GT-R GT500 Versus Lexus LC500

Developed particularly for the 2017 racing season, the Lexus LC500 Super GT500 is a brand new model for this series which dethroned the RC F. The RC F was noted for defeating the Nissan GT-R GT500 last year. Based on this new model, it seems to be a larger luxury coupe compared to the RC F.

The Lexus GT500 race coupe is also built to comply with the current Super GT regulations. It also looks menacing just like the 2017 Nissan GT-R GT500. Lexus now aims to beat Nissan again so they will have a back-to-back victory since it replaced Toyota in 2006. For those interested, a review for the Lexus LC500 Super GT500 can be found here.

2017 Nissan GT-R GT500 Versus Honda NSX-GT

The Honda NSX GT is loosely based on the road versions of Honda Acura NSX that one can find in American dealerships. This car joined the series in 2014 replacing the HSV-010 GT. This Honda sports coupe proved competitive in its first two seasons joining the Super GT Series but it failed to conquer the Nissan GT-R. It also needs to match the performance of its own predecessor.

With the NSX-GT, Honda is aiming to win its first title since 2010. In 2016, at least five teams preferred the NSX-GT but this Honda car hasn't had any race won in the GT500 class. A review on the Honda NSX-GT can be found here.

Conclusion

The 2017 Nissan GT-R lost the championship to Lexus last year, and it's a pretty big hit for the car maker. It is said that it barely had proper competition the last two years prior to 2016. The car's aggressive makeover should help a lot in getting the title again, that is if its competitors Lexus LC500 and Honda NSX-GT wouldn't do anything about it. It is also hard to tell who will win the 2017 series since a new design regulation was implemented, forcing all cars to make some changes that would affect their performance.
