Ford Mustang Hybrid, Ford F-150 Hybrid Confirmed For 2020

Ford CEO, Mark Fields, confirmed that Ford Mustang Hybrid and Ford F-150 Hybrid will arrive in 2020. Ford previously revealed plans to build an F-150 hybrid in 2014, but this is the first revelation of the Ford Mustang hybrid. The car is also said to be very powerful and will be launched the same time as the seventh generation of Mustang.

Ford surprised everyone yesterday as they revealed its five-year plan to massively electrify its range. These plans include up to 13 new electric vehicles, including hybrid versions of some well-known models such as the F-150 pick-up and the bestselling and iconic Mustang. The Ford Mustang hybrid and the Ford F-150 hybrid are set to arrive in 2020. Two pursuit-rated hybrid police vehicles will also be introduced but their release dates have not been disclosed as of this writing.

Ford has not specified details about the Ford Mustang hybrid and the Ford F-150 hybrid. However, the company divulged that the Mustang will be a very powerful one, according to MotorAuthority. It will have similarities with the Mustang V8 but with much more torque and will probably have more horsepower too.

The first thing that comes to mind is the instantaneous torque produced by the electric motors so it would not be unreasonable to imagine a future 7th generation Mustang wheel burning wildly and perhaps without the usual roar of the engine accompanying the tire. Although these are only speculations, the hybrid system is said to be employed in the Mustang to raise its power while also reducing consumption and emission figures.

The new Ford Mustang hybrid and Ford F-150 hybrid will be manufactured at the plant in Flat Rock, Michigan, where Ford also announced in the same press release their immediate investment plans of up to 673 million euros for expansion. These facilities are said to host up to 700 new employees, according to FoxNews. However, this is only a small part of Ford's strategy regarding electric vehicles since their plans include a total investment estimated at over 4,300 million euros in three years.

Expect to receive more information about the Ford Mustang hybrid and Ford F-150 hybrid in the coming months.
