2017 is a big year especially for the automotive industry. There are definitely a few car manufacturers that you need to watch out for in terms of the latest automotive technology at the 2017 CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, Nevada, from January 5 to January 8.
The 2017 CES. This year's international CES will feature and reveal the latest in revolutionary technology covering gadgets, computers, drones, phones, and even cars.
More than half of the hype surrounding the 2017 CES has been all about cars. It is expected that leading global car manufacturers will be showcasing the latest technology in their vehicles.
Fiat Chrysler. It is expected that Fiat Chrysler will be revealing a fully electric model of the Pacifica minivan and possibly an electronic version of its Maserati sports car. There is also speculation that Fiat Chrysler will be announcing its partnership with Waymo, the autonomous car developer from Google, for a driverless ride-sharing service that is to start off with Michigan.
Hyundai. Another self-driving car from Hyundai, the Ionic, will officially make its debut at this year's CES. The Ionic was revealed last year at the Los Angeles Auto Show and has been reportedly doing practice rounds in Las Vegas in preparation for the 2017 CES.
Toyota. This Japanese automaker is expected to reveal it's redesigned infotainment system which is likely to feature either Apple's CarPlay or Google's Android Auto.
Honda. 2016 was a good year for Honda, even ending up as the top most searched for car brand on Google for 2016. This year, Honda could potentially introduce its NeuV concept car which is set to feature new modes of in-car connectivity.
Continental. The automotive supplier that is Continental could possibly reveal its biometric key technology which will use a driver's fingerprint as an additional key that should help in cutting down on vehicle thefts.
BMW. HoloActive Touch system from BMW reportedly enables drivers and passengers alike to interact with touchscreen interfaces without leaving any finger smudges.
Faraday Future. Faraday Future is set to unveil its new electric SUV which is quicker than the Tesla Model S and has NASA-inspired interiors and seats and self-driving capabilities.
