Honda America issued a stop-sale order and recalled a total of 641,302 Odyssey minivans in the U.S. for two different reasons. This is ahead of the next-generation Odyssey's scheduled debut next month.

According to Automotive News, the recall of 633,753 units of 2011-2016 Odyssey minivans built between Aug. 17, 2010, and Oct. 1, 2015. Honda said that there were no crashes or injuries that have been reported as a result of either issues, one was discovered through analyzing warranty claims while the center seat issue was discovered through internal quality checks.

In a statement, the automaker said that one of the recalls involved a mechanism which allows the outboard second row seats to tilt and glide forward for access to the third row seating area but when returned to its normal position, it may not properly lock the seat into place, increasing the risk of injury to passengers seated in the second row.

Dealerships will be installing additions brackets and springs to the second row outboard seats. Because of the large volume of the new parts needed, Honda said that the necessary parts will be available around spring of 2017 and it will start notifying affected Odyssey owners in mid-February and again when parts are available.

The Odyssey minivan carmaker further said that until the repair has been done, owners should be able to slide the seat into the desired position and manually latch the seat into a fixed position by pressing down on the horizontal position adjustment bar. Also, it said that dealerships will inspect the latch mechanism and adjust it to ensure proper operation if necessary.

U.S. sales for the Odyssey fell 4.7 percent to 110,435 vehicles in the first 11 months of this year.
