Bad News for Gamers: Latest Nintendo Switch Update Reveals Irreplaceable Batteries

Recent FCC filings indicate that Nintendo's newest gaming console will not have replaceable batteries. It will be quite inconvenient if your Nintendo Switch's battery dies on you while on the go.

Irreplaceable Nintendo Switch Batteries. The Nintendo Switch is Nintendo's latest gaming console. It is a handheld hybrid which means that you can take it out of its dock and bring it everywhere you want to take it. There hasn't been any news yet on how long the Nintendo Switch's battery life is. A recent update says that its batteries are irreplaceable, which could spell bad news for avid gamers on the go.

The Nintendo Switch controller has a screen just like its predecessor. Graphics are powered by the Nvidia Tegra chip which is expected to provide high-quality video resolution comparable to the Microsoft's Xbox One.

The Nintendo Wii U which came before the Nintendo Switch was criticized for having too short a battery life. Nintendo reacted by releasing a high-capacity battery pack that enabled gameplay on the Wii U to last up to 8 hours. It is not clear yet if Nintendo will be doing the same for its newest product.

All batteries have a maximum number of charges before it starts displaying signs of "dying". With the irreplaceable batteries, gamers can expect to have their Nintendo Switch plugged into a wall socket at all times when this happens or when the battery dies on you much earlier due to whatever reason.

The Nintendo Switch is set to be released in March of next year. This update hasn't been supported by an official word from Nintendo yet so it is best to wait until we get an actual confirmation.

If this really is the case, it is probably best to always have an extra charging cable handy. This would enable charging wherever you may be so as long as there is an available wall socket to plug into.
