The 2018 Chevrolet Corvette is set to have a more modern V8 Engine dubbed as the LT5. This information comes from internally leaked documents and is said to be a move that addresses the issues of previous versions. The Chevrolet Corvette has always been one of the most coveted cars in the U.S., and a better, new generation will make its value even higher.

After more than 20 years, the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette will also once again offer the DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft) engine option in its line. The information on this engine comes from the internal brochure of General Motors, which made clear its veracity and strong aesthetic appeal, according to TorqueNews.

The Chevrolet Corvette line will be announced with a new 6.2-liter petrol V8 engine, dubbed LT5. In the file, this engine appears with a "Y" code, which means that it will only be used on the Corvette. This new propellant will be equipped with direct fuel injection, variable valve control and aluminum block. In addition, it should be installed centrally in the vehicle, according to DigitalTrends.

However, it is not yet known what version of the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette will offer this new engine. Surely, it will not replace the 6.2 LT1 propeller of the Corvette Stingray's entry version, as it also appears in the document. So the new LT5 is believed to be available in a C7 ZR1 configuration, or possibly a new generation of Corvette to be called C8.

There is no data yet regarding the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette's horsepower, but it is to be expected that the new Corvette with a central LT5 engine, aluminum made and direct injection will deliver more power than the 650 hp delivered by the 6.2 V8 LT4 of the Z06. It is difficult, however, to imagine such high power in a 6.2 unit without turbo or supercharging.
