Honda has already given a facelift to its 2017 Honda City sedan. The new look will soon arrive in India and Thailand. The 2017 Honda City release date will be as early as next month, with Thailand having a date set at Jan. 12. India, on the other hand, has no specific date yet.
The 2017 Honda City is going to have a whole new look via a series of cosmetic changes. Speculations have surfaced that this is Honda's move to counter Hyundai's latest Verna sedan, as reported by Auto.NDTV.com. A newcomer also tags along in the form of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. The following are the expected cosmetic upgrades for the 2017 Honda City.
The All-New 2017 Honda City: Exterior Features
The 2017 Honda City has obviously borrowed its design cues from bigger siblings Honda Accord and Honda Civic. Striking its design at the front, the refreshed look for the subcompact sedan will have a reimagined bumper sporting a pair of L-shaped headlamps lit by LEDs as well as its LED-powered daytime running lights (DRL). Chrome grills will house the fog lamps.
The new Honda model will also get 16-inch allow wheels featuring diamond cut finishes. To top it all off, it will have tail lamps getting its inspiration from the Honda Civic.
The All-New 2017 Honda City: Interior Features
The 2017 model Honda City will have a bunch of new features based on Thailand's version. An infotainment system 5-inch LCD display topped with eight speakers will bedazzle its new owners. On top of that, it will be compatible with Apple's CarPlay and Android Auto.
The latest Honda car model will also have a climate control feature, rear cameras for parking and AC vents for passengers in the rear.
The All-New 2017 Honda City: Engine
The next generation Honda City will still sport the good old 1.5L engines, for both petrol and diesel. It will have 5-speed manual transmission and CVT variations. The engine delivers 117 horsepower with 145 Nm for torque, the diesel variation will have a slightly lower horsepower, measured at 99 with 200 Nm for torque. The 2017 Honda City sedan will be offered in S, V, V+ and SV variants.
