Tesla Gigafactory Photos Taken By Drone; Will It Make Tesla The World Leader In Green Cars? [VIDEO]

The Tesla gigafactory photos taken by a drone and released a few days ago revealed the extent of which the work in the gigafactory has progressed. Located in Spark, Nevada, the Tesla gigafactory stood out over the vast and barren land surrounding it. The factory is expected to step up production of Tesla cars in the midst of the rising popularity of environment-friendly, or green, cars.

Situated in Sparks, Nevada, this gigantic factory covers 4.5 million square feet where the estimated 10 million square feet structure will be erected. However, given that the buildings will have several floors, the final floor area might come up to 15 million square feet. With Tesla committed to promoting a green environment, the enormous factory will get its power from renewable energy sources. Lithium-ion batteries for the electric cars that Tesla builds will be produced in this site, as well as 500,000 cars per year, according to Mail Online.

The vast area, as wide as 107 NFL football fields combined, is witness to the ambition of Tesla to reign supreme in the production of green cars. Tesla used to have missed deliveries, but with the completion of its gigafactory, it is expected that customers will always receive orders on time, according to Auto Blog.

Once finished, the Tesla giant factory will have the biggest footprint in the whole world, even big enough to hold 100,747 booing jets. As work progresses, the factory is becoming bigger and bigger, and one can just imagine its size once it is completed. It will also make the biggest number of Tesla cars ever produced.

It plans to deliver one million cars annually with 80,000 to 90,000 built in 2016. The plan's completion is slated for 2020 and it is estimated that it will be hiring 10,000 workers until it is fully completed, according to Business InsiderWith Tesla green cars plying the streets, a safe and clean environment can easily be achieved through this gigantic factory.
