Two NJ Sisters Killed In Head-On Auto Crash

Police have confirmed that two sisters were killed in a head-on collision in Jackson Township, NJ on Tuesday afternoon. The reason for the crash is still being investigated.

The car was going north on South Hope Chapel Road when reportedly when the driver lost control of the car and crossed the center of the road.

According to Asbury Park Press, the car then collided with a 2001 Mazda MPV minivan being driven by a man from Toms River. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

By the time police responded to the crash, they found both Jamie and Francesca Nicholson trapped inside a 1987 Mercedes Benz 190.

Francesca was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Jamie was still alive by the time police reached the scene of the crash, but died shortly after arriving at a Medical Center in Neptune, NJ.

Police are still investigating what caused the driver to rear off into the other road. People who drove on the same road yesterday have reported that it was wet due to the slight rain storm earlier in the day, so if the driver was speeding, there is a good chance the bad road conditions might have played a factor in the auto accident.

Francesca just celebrated her sweet sixteen party over the weekend and would have turned 16 on Thursday.

Both of them were students at Jackson Memorial High School and were members of the color guard.

According to NJ.com, their high school posted on their website that they have set up a grief counseling service for students and staff alike grieving over the tragedy.
