2016 McLaren 570S Is Company’s 10,000th Car; Increased Production Rate Signals More McLarens To Come [VIDEO]

The 2016 McLaren 570S, the 10,000th car made by the company, recently rolled out of the McLaren Production Center in Woking, serving as a landmark for this maker of F1. Known for its Formula 1 racing cars, it added road cars to its production to give drivers who prefer fast cars, but are not experienced enough to drive racing cars, an enjoyable driving experience.

The fact that McLaren has built five car models in the last five years showed how its development cycle had increased its pace. Finishing the 2016 McLaren 570S car in just 22 days was considered a milestone in the company's history. Five years ago, it built its 5000th car in 42 days and the 10-day difference was made possible by hiring more people and letting them work by shift, resulting in nonstop production activities in the company's plant, according to Car Scoops.

Done up in a special shade of Ceramic Gray, the 2016 McLaren 570S featured great figures in terms of power source and speed.  It was made mostly of carbon fiber, a lightweight material, which made it possible for the car to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3.1 seconds. This is a seemingly unbelievable figure but still a modest claim, meaning the number of seconds may still be lower, according to Motor Trend.

Powered by a twin-turbo charged and inter-cooled V8 engine, the 2016 McLaren 570S accommodates two persons: the driver and one passenger. It has a rear-wheel drive matched to seven-speed transmission and packed with the latest safety measures and infotainment system, according to Car and Driver.

With the increased production, more cars will be sold every year, with 1,635 cars sold in 2015. It is predicted that the company will be able to ship 3,000 cars in 2016, which means production has almost doubled. The first 2016 McLaren 570S will be displayed as part of the company's Heritage Collection.
