Apple CarPlay Is Now In More Than 200 Cars: Is Yours On The List?

For those who love iPhones and can't seem to get enough of Apple's interface, even while driving, Apple CarPlay is for you. It allows you do the things you want to do with your iPhone while driving as you stay focused on the road, including playing your music, navigating to your destination, taking phone calls, as well as "reading" and sending text messages.

According to Apple, Apple CarPlay is "The Ultimate Copilot." It lets you use an iPhone (particularly the iPhone 5 and newer devices) with a word, touch or twist. To activate Siri voice control, just press and hold the voice control button situated on the steering wheel. If your CarPlay-equipped vehicle has a touchscreen, you may use it to control CarPlay. If your touchscreen has knobs, dials, or buttons, it controls CarPlay.

CarPlay can also predict the places where you most likely want to go using addresses from your email, texts, contacts and calendars. You can also search for the nearby restaurants, gas stations, malls, coffee shops and other establishments. It will even estimate how long the detour would take. Apple Maps, available on Apple only, will be the guide.

In addition, CarPlay lets you enjoy your music your way. Access your iTunes, your Apple Music membership and additional audio apps using your car's built-in controls or just tell Siri what you want to hear.

If you want to make calls, return missed calls or listen to your voicemail, Siri can help through the vehicle's audio system. As for the messages, reading and writing is now listening and dictating, all you need to do is ask Siri.

You may also use other apps which are on your iPhone and apps developed by car manufacturers. Apple and Techradar have a full list of these apps. Here is the list of the cars that now work with Apple CarPlay:
