Charlize Theron’s Childhood Home Scene Of Another Murder

Yet another murder has occured at the childhood home of actress Charlize Theron.

The current homeowner Barry Newland was reportedly tortured and murdered inside the home in Benoni, South Africa on Sept. 5.

Five men killed Newland after they were let inside the home by his girlfriend. The men were pretending to be interested in buying a car from Newland, who ran an at-home based car business. He was then suffocated after being gagged with a plastic bag. His body suffered multiple cigarette burns and wounds from a hot clothes iron.

The murderers stole a phone, iPod, laptop and two cameras from Newland's house.

This is the second murder to take place at the house formerly owned by the parents of Charlize Theron. The Theron's mother killed her husband in 1991 in a reported act of self-defense.

Her father had never abused her personally but was described as a drunk and verbal abuser. He had been out drinking one night and came into the house stating "tonight I'm going to kill you both with a shotgun" to Theron and her mother.

After he fired one shot at the bedroom door her mother said she felt forced to take action.

"My mother is amazing, and I know all daughters or children will say this, it sounds very biased, but she is very unique," said Theron to CNN's Piers Morgan in 2011. "She's saved my life many times,"

It took a while for Theron to discuss the incident to anyone, choosing to say he died in a car crash instead. It wasn't until 2004 that she decided to discuss it to the world in an interview with Diane Sawyer.

"I know what happened," said Theron in the interview. "I know that if my daughter was in the same situation, I would do the same thing."
