New York City To Host 2012 Cash Car Contest In Times Square

Emmy-winner Ben Bailey is set to host Honda's Accord Cash Car competition this coming Saturday with many prizes on the line for the winner.

The host of Discovery Channel's "Cash Cab" is partnering with Honda to promote the new 2013 Honda Accords in Times Square on Saturday where people will be chosen to answer questions about the car. If you answer questions correctly, you will win cash prizes and automatically be entered to win the new vehicle

Honda isn't letting anyone know what questions will be asked, but if you're thinking about attending the event it may help to understand why Honda is holding the event in the first place.

Essentially Honda wants to spread the word around about their new car to make sure interested customers know what is coming.

The car will feature a new rear-view camera, SMS text message function and Bluetooth HandsFreeLink. The 2013 model will be a two-door vehicle, a first for the Accord series. The cars will be priced anywhere from $21,680 to $33,400.

"With an innovative, fun-to-drive product like the all-new 2013 Honda Accord, we wanted to create an exciting, innovative contest to help people experience it," said Mike Accavitti, vice president of automotive marketing at American Honda Motor Co. in a Honda press release.  "Accord is the new value leader in the mid-size class because it excels in all areas and the Accord Cash Car promotion will bring that story to life."

The event will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. where multiple groups of three person teams will participate as contestant ants, one each hour. The event will be broadcasted on a large screen displayed in Times Square for all New Yorkers to see.

Similar contests will be held in major areas such as Los Angeles, Chicago and Phoenix throughout the fall.
