Hyundai Launches Month Long Hockey Awareness Campaign (VIDEO)

Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. launched a month-long campaign dedicated to raising awareness and donations for under-resourced youth to get in the game of hockey on Monday. The campaign is called Hyundai Hockey Helpers and will run until October 31.

Hyundai Hockey Helpers is a brand new program designed to reinvest in communities across the country while improving the lives of deserving children by helping at least 1,000 under-resourced Canadian youth play hockey.

In partnership with KidSport Canada, a not-for-profit organization that provides financial assistance to kids ages 18 and under, the program provides grants for registration fees and equipment costs in order to lower the financial complications that stop children from taking part in organized sports.

The company will also host a contest open to all Canadians for a chance to win a new 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT.

"The successful launch of the Hyundai Hockey Helpers program in September has seen tremendous response from the communities across Canada," said Steve Kelleher, President and CEO, Hyundai Auto Canada Corp in a press statement. "October marks Hyundai Hockey Helpers Month, and we're adding an incentive for Canadians to learn more about the program through a contest that will see one lucky Canadian drive away in a brand new Hyundai Elantra GT."

The contest is just one of the contests that will contribute to Hyundai Hockey Helpers Month in Canada. Canadian dealers from all over the country have been conducting fundraising programs to help more kids get in the game.

Additionally, Hyundai Hockey Helpers ambassadors and vehicles will travel to more than 90 hockey arenas to collect donations, and reach out to families.
