'Neverwinter Nights' Diamond Edition: For Free And Other Great Deals On GOG's Massive Winter Sale [VIDEO]

DRM-free PC store GOG.com is bringing Christmas to gamers a little early with its annual sale dubbed "The Monstrous Winter Sale," which kicked off yesterday and has not disappointed thus far. Among many gems and great deals, the standout at the moment is the "everwinter Nights" Diamond Edition, being offered for free for the first 48 hours.

The free "Neverwinter Nights" Diamond edition comes with the original BioWare RPG in addition to three expansions. According to PC World, Neverwinter Nights is an excellent game precisely due to its mods, and the website recommends finding a modding guide and letting oneself run wild with it.

The GOG sale traditionally kicks off with free editions, so gamers need to act fast before the time-sensisitive deal ends. Even when "Neverwinter Nights" Diamond Edition goes back on sale, there are hundreds of other great deals to pore over. Currently, other discounted games in the GOG Winter Sale are Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition for $20, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" Complete Edition for $30, "Firewatch" for $12, "Planescape Torment" for $4, "Shadow Warrior 2" for $30 and "Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons" for $3.80.

The site is also giving gamers the option to create their own "build-your-own" bundles where different games can be combined if they share a similar element, like EA RPG, according to Gamespot. Those who are not "Neverwinter Nights" fans also have more to look forward to, as new deals will be unveiled each day at 6 AM ET / 3 AM PT.

Another fun element to the website's massive sale is that for every dollar spent, badge collected and times a player checks in, the buyer can earn XP. After reaching a certain amount of XP, further free games are revealed, like "Shadowrun: Dragonfall" and "Shadow Warrior Classic Redux."
