The Vauxhall Prince Henry is being sold more than 100 years after it was produced. The classic design and the history that comes with it will greatly influence the price.

Reports say that the Vauxhall Prince Henry car is about 102 years old. The Vauxhall numbered C97 is the brainchild of Laurence Pomeroy. The vintage car was kept in top shape and was driven for almost 50 years by one owner that goes by the name Reg Long. Although the car is more than 100 years old, its top speed remains at 80 mph, according to The Sun.

The vintage car might be a century old, but it has stood the test of time; its owner, a vintage car enthusiast, still takes the Vauxhall Prince Henry to cross country drives in Turkey and Europe. The car will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. And since it's a classic and the world's first sports car, it might cost a hefty price. Currently, there are only 12 remaining units of the Vauxhall today.

On the other hand, the auction house estimates that its sale might be a bit lower than expected at only £500-600,000; iy is very difficult to tell until the auction day approaches. "The estimate may seem low as it has been a very long time since one of these cars has been offered on the open market," an official at the auction house said in a statement. "It is hard to say what sort of price this could reach on the day, as it is such a rare and beautiful model and would make such a unique addition to a collection," the official added.

The current C97 version is also regarded as the "most handsome" model from the range of surviving Vauxhall cars in the world today.
