The much-awaited DC crossover event is finally within reach. The CW superheroes from "Arrow," "The Flash," "Legends of Tomorrow" and "Supergirl" are participating in an attempt to save the planet from an alien threat called the Dominators.

While crossover events are nothing new in the "Arrowverse," things will be exciting thanks to the addition of "Supergirl" to the CW superhero family. This coming week, the four-episode crossover will start on the November 28th episode of "Supergirl" and will continue in a week-long sprint among the other three CW shows.

There will be 15 characters from the four shows working together. Greg Berlanti, the genius mastermind behind Arrowverse, will produce the event. The heroes will come together in the Hall of Justice. The Flash will introduce Supergirl to the other freedom fighters, after an alternate-reality jump to fetch her. The introduction doubles as a warm welcome to the Maiden of Might, who is the latest addition to the Arrowverse and the CW family (formerly aired on CBS).

It will be fun to see Kara Danvers interact with Oliver Queen (Green Arrow), who is not too impressed about Supergirl. Apparently, John Diggle (Spartan) shares the same empathy, or lack thereof - until he sees her fly.

Comic quips are a big part of Arrowverse crossovers and fans are excited more than ever, especially now that there are more characters involved. This is not to say that it's all fun and games behind the camera. On the contrary, the stunts, production and storytelling require a lot of hard work.

In an EW interview, Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) said, "I'm usually in the comfort zone of my own set, where we have a system down. So to do it in front of all these people in a different place, I was nervous. It took a little dialing-in to get it down."

Screenrant posted a teaser trailer and behind-the-scenes video for the DC crossover event. There is no denying that fans all over the world are going to geek out harder than ever. Until then, it's just a matter of time before we see the entire "Invasion" comics miniseries adaptation in front of our screens.
