Anne Rice Working On 'Vampire Chronicles' TV Series

Best-selling author Anne Rice is excited to bring her popular "Vampire Chronicles" book series to the small screen.

The theatrical rights were held by Universal Studios and Imagine Entertainment previously, which optioned to develop a film instead for the said book series. Apparently, it did not work out because it was clear that fans of the acclaimed book series want the vampires to be adapted into a television show.

On a brighter note, according to a post on her Facebook account, she had just reclaimed the series' theatrical rights. Now, Rice is very excited with having her book series as a TV adaptation.

Both Anne Rice and her son, Christopher Rice, also a best-selling author, will be developing the script and the detailed outline for the series --- hoping to truly present Lestat's story faithfully according to the book, together with other book elements that readers are looking forward to seeing. The series will likely start with "The Vampire Lestat", The Vampire Chronicles' second book.

They are looking to have the series in a Game of Thrones-style production, which was faithfully solidified from the original material and George R. Martin having control over how the entire series will be done. They also stated that readers of the book series played a big role for its success, long before any film was ever made based on the book. It's what keeps the author moving forward.

The proposed TV series is still in its very early stages. Once everything is settled and done, Rice is going to pursue credible producers. These people will help them reach their goals in achieving a big hit for this said TV adaptation. Both mother and son are looking forward to long-term success on television, which fans will surely be waiting for.
