Guy Created A Video Game Proposal For His Girlfriend; Plays Some Mariachi, Gets Engaged [VIDEO]

Austin Piech created a video game proposal for his then-girlfriend. After six levels of gameplay, she got to the final screen where a mariachi band serenaded her. Later, Piech emerges carrying a ring --- and she said "Yes".

The story originally happened back in May 2015, but had recently reemerged in the online community. Piech is a game developer from Covington, Kentucky. The game is called "Lolo's Bizarre Adventure" and took about 100 hours to develop.

Nerdist reports that the video game proposal includes personalized levels to reflect his relationship with his then-girlfriend. Even more impressive, as well as emotional, are the game's final screens. You can see how important proposals are for Piech and his family. With a mariachi band playing a song that his grandfather used to propose to his grandmother decades ago, Piech took the cue and proposed to his girlfriend.

Piech explains, "Lauren and I are in our mid-twenties and currently live next to Cincinnati, OH. When I proposed to her, we had been dating for a few years and things were going pretty great. We hardly ever argued, we shared similar hobbies, and I realized that if I was going to spend the rest of my life with someone, there wasn't anyone better than her."

He even put up an entire Imgur gallery to highlight the video game proposal's levels and final shots.

It's not hard to see why he is so proud of this feat. Grand gestures are often seen left and right when it comes to proposing. Still, putting in a hundred hours of work into a customized video game takes this proposal to new heights.

Game developers are often pegged as "geeks" who are not as emotionally invested as the rest of the world. This story proves otherwise. And the best part of it all is that she said yes.
